Building a Better Mousetrap (Redesigning My Website)

Good grief, it's nearly the end of January already!

If you're anything like me, you are struggling to make real progress towards your goals.

Sure, you've gotten "a lot done" this year. But it's mostly been client work. That doesn't truly move your business forward - it just keeps you happily spinning in place.

I get it, things come up. Especially when you are freelancing.

But for me... it's time to get down to business.

It's time to build a better mousetrap.

Of course, I'm not actually building mousetraps - and you probably aren't either.

Here's what I mean: if you run a business that relies on finding new clients & signing them up for services... your website is a potentially powerful "mousetrap" for your business.

Well the current mousetrap for my company SearchParty Marketing really sucks.

My website gosearchparty.com was left to die in March 2021. I pulled the offers down, added a "waitlist" for any cleaning biz owner who wanted me to do their website/ads, and the site has remained in that state for almost a year.

Amazingly... people did sign up to the waitlist!

That's nice. Because now I have a small email list. I can warm them up and "launch" the new website + offers to them soon.

I've spent weeks planning a new website on paper, filling a swipe file with screenshots of other people's sites, and I even attended a marketing conference in Las Vegas in December to get further inspired (my main takeaway = get your LAZY ASS IN GEAR this year!).

Well here I am - in late January - finally getting my ass in gear.

See yall after my gosearchparty.com site rebuild is done! Hopefully in about 1 week. But you know how it goes...

Talk soon,
Reuben

P.S. - did you notice I redesigned my personal website recently? I used the new reubenrock.com as a way to get "warmed up" for redesigning my much-more-profitable website gosearchparty.com

P.P.S. - if you're working on a website "rebuild" of your own right now, I highly recommend these books. They helped me "see the forest" while planning my upcoming website rebuild:

  • How to Write Copy That Sells by Ray Edwards
  • Dotcom Secrets, Expert Secrets, and Traffic Secrets by Russell Brunson
  • 100 Million Dollar Offers by Alex Hormozi
